[Action] 04 - Setting aside that really weird dream... >_>

Kurogane stalked ahead of his traveling companions how the hell had he ended up with those anyway?! and wondered how much further that bird was going to continue leading them through a now somewhat thinning forest.

Actually, they hadn't traveled much more than a day and a half and had already seemed to reach nearly the other side of the central forest that supposedly split this land in half. He'd been expecting it to be bigger, honestly. Perhaps the bird had taken a path that passed through a narrower section of the woods. There wasn't really any way to know without a map or some exploration and Kurogane didn't care that badly to find out either way though. At the very least, they seemed to be reaching the end of the forest with little incident. Which both relieved him and pissed him off. He didn't particularly want to look out for that kid and would have had to if they'd come across any trouble, but at the same time, he was bored out of his mind and just itching for something to happen.

His dreams the previous night had only proved that too true. Shaking his head, bits and pieces of the dreams lingering still with him, he tried to clear them out. Fighting side by side with a "Princess of Dolls?" Tch. And that girl with the wings on her feet and that grinning idiot... standing around while he was chained down... He developed a twitch just thinking about it. He'd wanted to smash in that guy's face just to make him stop grinning and looking so damned smug and happy!

Kurogane was finally pulled out of his musings about the bizarre dreams when he realized he had lost sight of the damn bird again. He lifted his eyes to an increasingly cloudy sky, not thinking much of the fact that it had been sunny only minutes before, he wasn't going to complain. He spotted the creature circling in the sky before taking off toward what appeared to be a tower or castle not far ahead, peeking over clumps of tall trees. He paused and turned back to the others, eyes falling on Taiki, "That it, kid?"


(( OOC: So! Taiki, Mokona and Sakura if she uhhh tailed them (though they have been walking for about a day and half since the river meeting, so she'd have been gone from home that long too, but please feel free to have her following them!) - we are arriving at Fay's tower after following Windam! I figure the dream event happened the previous night when they made camp. ))

Kurogane just stared up at the tower in disbelief. They really had all dreamed the same things? Then this guy... had seen that dream...?

Gah, that pissed him off! And that weird blonde only grinned like an idiot and claimed it was "fun?" What the hell was wrong with him? Tch. However as he spoke with Taiki, something he said caught the kami's attention.

Your sages sent to me, - Just what he wanted to hear. "So they know where you are and they are looking for him. He can just stay here," he called back, not expecting an argument. Finally, he could leave this helpless kid here without worrying about what sort of trouble he'd get himself into. Not his problem anymore, hmph.

Taiki hung his head and looked distressed at the thought of the sages getting so worried about him. Though it had been an accident it was his fault he'd upset them, so they were probably mad at him too. He wasn't supposed to go outside the walls yet, at least not without taming a protector first.
"Were they mad?" He called up at Fay with obvious worry.

"While I would love to have company for a while," said Fay, toying with the end of one of his braids, "I'm afraid it would be rather inconvenient for Taiki to stay here." His smile turned sheepish. "Perhaps I could direct you to a place to stay where the sages can easily find you? And do not worry, Taiki, they were not angry at all. Simply worried."

Kurogane leveled an annoyed look up at the blonde, "Why the hell can't he just stay with you?"

Fay waved a hand expansively, the gesture intending to take in the entire base of the tower.

"Do you see a way in?" he said, his voice taking on an extremely amused lilt.

Twitch. Kurogane frowned and his eyes dropped to the base once more. It was true he hadn't seen a door, but...

"You must get in there somehow," he countered.

"Just how long do you think I've been here?" said Fay, grinning even wider now. This was a ridiculously entertaining way to spend a part of a day~.

That brought the kami to a pause. This guy couldn't possibly live up there, much less without ever leaving...

Right?

He looked up again, arching an eyebrow, "You can't be saying you never leave."

At least if that was the case, as unlikely as it was, it would explain how strange he was. Anyone would go crazy being locked up like that...

Locked up.

His frown returned as he eyed Fay, high above him. Maybe there was a reason he was up there then...

Fay regretted that he couldn't get closer to see the taller black-haired man's face better.

"That is the simplest way to put what I am saying," he said.

"How does that even work?!"

This man was either dangerous enough to be locked away like this, crazy enough to do it on his own, stupid enough to not know how to get down or not real... Kurogane wasn't sure which conclusion was best.

There went his plan to leave the kid here though... damnit.

This got Fay a confused and angry sputter, "Obviously if you never leave! But how do you eat or drink or get anything?!"

The answers like he was slow were starting to piss him off and he was definitely developing a twitch reaction to that vapid smile.

Fay decided that was a question he could answer without spoiling the game.

"I have a courier that brings me provisions once a month," he said, toying with his braid again, "which is unfortunately the only hospitality I would be able to offer you all if you stayed here. If you don't mind sleeping beneath the stars however, please, feel free to use this clearing."

Well he wasn't a prisoner just left to rot there then at least... That didn't rule out there was a reason he was locked up though.

"I have better things to do," he responded coldly to the offer, but his gaze darted to Taiki. Did he want to just leave the child with this suspicious guy?... He wasn't so sure now. Tch! Why the hell hadn't he just left him at the river in the first place?

"Can you get this kid's sages to come find him here or not?" he asked begrudgingly after a moment.

Fay chuckled at the annoyed response, then considered for a moment.

"I could most definitely direct them here," he said, "but I am certain it would take a few days at least."

Kurogane sighed and grumbled under his breath a moment before calling up in answer, "Fine, we'll wait here for now."

This better be a test from his sister for him to go to this much trouble. Hn. As it was, he was sure he was going to regret this even more than he already did.

"Then, I welcome you to my tower!" said Fay, sweeping his hand in a gracious gesture. "Is there any refreshment I could offer you?"

Kurogane gave the blonde a long look. Was he serious?

"How the hell do you intend to offer anything?" He gave a sidelong glance over to where Taiki sat, keeping tabs on him, and rolled his eyes. The boy had fallen asleep, leaning peacefully against the tower's base. Kurogane couldn't even comprehend how blindly trusting that kid was.

Fay chuckled.

"I have my ways. So, did you want anything?"

Kurogane snorted at the reply. Somehow he wasn't surprised that he didn't get a real answer. He briefly wondered where the white bouncing annoyance went but figured it couldn't go far as long as he had the lamp, so he dismissed it from thought.

So they were stuck here for a few days... Tch, what was he supposed to do around here? And where were they going to get food? He supposed he could hunt something, but he didn't much feel like it either.

And it just figured that he was out of sake too, he realized as he pulled out the empty cask.

"Ah! Did you want something to drink then?" said Fay, eyes lighting up. "Just wait there, I'll be right back!"

With that, his head vanished back into the tower.

Kurogane blinked and made a face up at the tower. He'd just been looking at the cask, he didn't ask for a damned thing. However, it wasn't like he had anything else to do, so he went to the nearby treeline and took a seat, leaning against one of the trunks to wait.

It was after a few minutes that Fay returned, a basket in his hand loaded down with a bottle. He tied the handle of the basket to the end of one of his braids and slung it over the hook near the window, slowly lowering it down.

"I'm not certain if this is to your taste, but it is some very fine liquor in my country," he said.

When Kurogane noticed movement up at the window again, he leaned forward, peering up and squinting into the bright daylight. Not being able to see anything more than the basket he stood and stretched and walked over to the base of the tower again, watching as the basket descended on a rope of some kind. What more caught his attention was the fact that there was indeed a bottle sitting in it.

"Liquor, huh?" Alright, he was intrigued. If this guy was going to offer him alcohol, Kurogane had no problem accepting it.

It wasn't until the basket reached a more eye level that Kurogane looked back up the length of the 'rope'... "So this is how you get food," he mused, taking the bottle with one hand and closing the other around the rope. It looked a little like.... and then his eyes widened in realization...

"Ahaha, curious about it?" said Fay, leaning back out the window again, this time with his own bottle in hand.
